about

I first heard this tune played on the banjo two-finger style by Doyce Chambers and his band the Pigeon River Ramblers. They played for square dances, clogging groups, and community frolics around Haywood County. Here (and also on track 13) I play an old mail-order banjo that belonged to my great uncle Austin Stamey.
